To A Lady Standing Strong : An Open Letter to Prachi Nigam

Dear Prachi, 

This is a letter for you. 

I am sorry. I am sorry that your achievements have been overshadowed by people obsessing over your appearance. In a world where emphasis is placed on superficial qualities, such as looks, talent, personality, intelligence, and hard work often takes a back seat. This is how it is for a woman. It pains me to acknowledge that in films, we often encounter passionate, rebellious, and exceptional women who set high standards and refuse to settle for less.

However, many of them still conform to society's beauty standards. It saddens me to think that you may never see someone on screen who reflects your unique beauty. You’re too young to experience this, but it angers me to say that most women are this young when they experience this trauma. The pressure to change each and every part off their bodies to fit into unrealistic beauty standards can be traumatic... 

This letter is for all the women who have been bullied for their looks. It pains me to hear your words filled with the pain and pettiness of scoring so well. Trust me! This society is scared of your achievements. They know, that a woman someone like you, highly spirited with passion and dedication may turn the world upside down. I know you aspire to be an engineer, a Profession traditionally associated with male dominance. Yet, your journey represents a revolutionary movement, a bold step towards showcasing the talents and capabilities that may have been underestimated or overlooked by the world…

I am so proud of you for making it so far. I hope the world has you better! I hope you can and will blur out to these voices that say “There is something wrong with you”, trust me you are perfect the way you are. I hope you find the courage and not conform to what these people say about you. And Congratulations! You did a great Job!
